History & Mission
At Cold Springs Precision training is built around real-world application, not checklists or minimum requirements. Every shooter brings a different starting point, which is why our approach focuses on helping you understand what works best for you, not just following a standard process.
Through hands-on, practical instruction, you’ll learn how to evaluate your own performance, make informed decisions, and fix the issues that often go unnoticed. It’s about building clarity and confidence in a way that carries beyond the range. This is training designed to stay with you—so you can continue improving, take ownership of your safety, and move forward with confidence and purpose.
Meet Your Instructor
Warren Abbott brings a lifetime of hands-on firearms experience, from growing up on a working farm where shooting was part of daily life, to competing at a national collegiate level. Mentored early on by expert marksmen and gunsmiths, he developed a deep foundation in precision shooting, earning top NRA ratings including Distinguished Expert. After college, Warren shifted his focus from competition to real-world defensive training, seeking out advanced instruction and eventually becoming a certified instructor himself. He has since worked alongside industry professionals, including assisting with training events for schools and collaborating with law enforcement instructors on skill-building programs.
Frustrated by seeing new shooters start with the wrong equipment and guidance, Warren stepped into pre-permit instruction to help others build confidence the right way from the start. Today, his classes go beyond state requirements—focused on practical skills, responsible ownership, and preparing students to be safe, capable, and confident firearm owners.
